JACOBSEN MANUFACTRING COMPANY
REPORTS RECENT EQUIPMENT INSTALLATIONS

Although the list of recent Jacobsen Manufacturing Company installations of new filing room equipment include some of America's largest mills, even small mills are finding the labor and material savings of this innovative equipment to be cost effective.

Sierra-Pacific Industries, Chinese Camp, California, installed a JM-6000 Automatic Circle Saw Leveller to help process saws for their new curve sawing gang.
Mitch Ford, Head Filer, processes approximately 130 saws across the JM-6000 every day. "My life certainly got easier," says Ford. "Our leveller processes saws for both shifts and has proven to be a great help in our training program."

Big Valley Lumber Company, Inc.'s Burney Saw Mill in Burney, California, included the JM-6000 as part of their filing room upgrade. The selection of the new automatic leveller is allowing them to consolidate the filing rooms of their mills at Bieber and Burney. Chuck Tugana is the Head Filer at Big Valley's Burney mill.

Sierra-Pacific Industries in Camino, California, has installed a JM-6000 with their new curved sawing gang. Head Filer Kenny Jordan, with the help of his new automatic leveller, processes all circular saws on the day shift. Rod Swift of Pacific/Hoe worked closely with Jordan to customize the JM-6000 to the specific needs of the Camino mill.

Plum Creek Timber Co. worked closely with Pacific/Hoe and Jacobsen Manufacturing personnel at the mills in Huttig, Arkansas and Joyce, Louisiana. As part of Plum Creek's decision to go to alloy tipping, they installed the JM-2000 Plasmatic Tipper complete with stand alone Induction Annealer in fling rooms in both locations.

Simpson Timber Co. of Shelton, Washington, has included the JM-2000 Tipper and Annealer as part of their alloy tipping program. Curt Casey, Head Filer of the Shelton operations, installed the JM-2000 at their Mill #3 location.
Kris Pelan, Jacobsen Manufacturing Service Technician, worked very closely with Simpson's circular saw filers to develop an in-house training program at Shelton.

Weyerhaeuser Co. has selected the JM-2000 stand alone Annealer to work in conjunction with their existing resistance weld tipper at their Wright City, Oklahoma, mill. The new annealer can cut their circle saw processing time in half.
Although the JM-2000 stand alone Annealer was originally designed to complement the JM-2000 Plasmatic Tipper, Jacobsen and Weyerhaeuser worked together to refine the annealer to operate compatibly with existing machinery.

Clearwater Forest Industries, Inc. of Kooskia, Idaho, has built a new filing room to support their circular gang upgrade. Head Filer Joe Hancock installed a new JM-3000 Dual Side Grinder and worked closely with Jacobsen personnel to install the first new JM-1000 Top and Face Grinder.

Anthony Forest Products Co.'s Head Filer Gary Maloch and Pacific/Hoe Regional Manager Don Amos recently worked together to install a JM-3000 fully enclosed Dual Side Grinder at the Atlanta, Texas, mill.
