Jacobsen Manufacturing Co. has introduced a new bandsaw profile grinder which features several industry innovations. The JM-8000 Bandsaw Profile Grinder is a 2-axis CNC grinder which utilized Jacobsen's state-of-the-art "Vari-Smart" software. Vari-Smart allows the JM-8000 to pre-measure the saw pitch and automatically program both axis to your bandsaw profile, including variable depth. A simple toggle activates the Vari-Depth feature.

With the very simple-to-use input screen you can modify back clearance algnes and tooth profiles to suit your needs. Vari-Smart takes over from there with NO need for factory programs or CAD files. There are also mechanical adjustments for grind depth and facing.

The JM-8000 has peripheral options that can be operated from the main panel and can include universal lifting stands, air back feed and auto swaging all tied in the same loop. The JM-8000's extra heavy-duty construction gives you unparalled grinding accuracy. All aspects of the tooth geometry are controlled by Jacobsen's patented "Vari-Smart" pre-measurement system and the grinding wheel motion is accomplished using dependable ball screw actuators and servo drives. Jacobsen has listened to filers and designed the JM-8000 around ease of use and ease of maintenance. The 8000's clean design lines and extra dust extraction ensure a clean working environment. Both right and left hand models are available.

Machine Specifications:

Electrical: 220 VAC, 1-phase, 60 cycle, 30 amp

Air Supply:  80 psi

Saw Capacity:  4" - 16", 1" - 3" pitch.

Shipping Dim:  70w x 40d x 62h, 1800 lbs. Convenient lifing arrangements.

JM-2000 Option for Grinding Electrodes and Welding/Dressing Jig for Rod Shorts

The bench-mounted JM-2500 is a new option for Jacobsen's popular JM-2000 Plasma Tipper. The JM-2500 allows the user to re-weld shorts back into a useable rod length to take full advantage of the per-tip savings of using Jacobsen's pre-ground Alloy Rod. Simply use our Oxy-Acetylene torch and the JM-2500 jig to re-weld the sorts. After welding the joint, slide the weld over the dresser and rotate until the weld diameter matches the original rod diameter for easy feeding on the JM-2000 Tipper Rod Feed.

Jacobsen's new Alloy Rod (part # 20J-rod093) is a precision-ground .093 diameter rod and comes in a standard length of 72 inches. This rod is approximately half the price of solid wire, which reflects a proportional per-tip savings. The welding jig also works as a reset angle grinder for re-sharpening your JM-2000 torch electrodes. MACHINE SPECIFICATIONS: Electrical: 110 VAC. Dimensions: 10" x 10" x 12".

Mill Maintenance Supplies to Fill All Needs

Pacific/Hoe offers a complete line of consumable products -- those items that every mill uses every day. And soon those items will be even more readily available to you because you will be able to order online at www.pacific-hoe.com  Our years of experience in saw manufacturing have lead to the development of a full range of cutting tools specifically designed for all varieties of cutting conditions and materials.  Our Accu-Ground Tipping fixtures can save an estimated 75% of carbide tip grinding time. We also carry a full line filing room tools. You'll find our "Commitment to Quality" in our products and our services.

Carbide Tips, Strips & Blanks:  Pacific/Hoe offers an extremely broad range of tips, strips and blanks. Our Accu-Ground carbide edger tips are manufactured to have optimum toughness and resiliency for rip sawing applications, as well as minimal drag and heat build up on flanks of tips while cutting.

Diamond Wheels:  Our diamond and CBN wheels have been carefully engineered to provide for top maintenance of all saw tip categories. All the wheels can be made with either diamond or CBN abrasive. Diamond abrasive should be specified for carbide tipped saws and CBN should be specified for saws tipped with alloy or high speed steel.

Grinding Wheels: Pacific/Hoe offers grinding wheels in zirconia oxide and aluminum oxide in a wide range of sized. Our Hoe-rizen brand features specific gravity and hardness to be sharp, cool and free cutting.

Ceramic Grinding Wheels:  Pacific/Hoe is now offering grinding wheels incorporating 3M's new 321 ceramic abrasive grain. This grain is available in both resinoid and vitrified bonds and are unparalleled in performance and quality. Conventional ceramic grain fractures and dulls, but this new ceramic sheds very small particles during the grinding process, thereby exposing new sharp grain continually. This also means less dressing and virtually eliminates loading. You'll experience a significant increase in life and cutting ability per abrasive grain.

JM-5500 Tooth Geometry Inspector

The JM-5500 is a heavy-duty portable Tooth Geometry Inspection Station for circles and bands. The precision high-resolution camera and monitor are easy to set up and give you magnified visual inspection of kerf, side clearance, and both radial and tangential angles. For grinder set up or troubleshooting, the JM-5500 gives everyone in the filing room the same clear information. The JM-5500 comes standard with a 4-axis crosshair generator and custom graduated overlays. The Jacobsen "Light ring" illuminates the tooth in any filing room light conditions. For bandsaws, simply roll the JM-5500 to your side grinder or profile grinder loop and view your bandsaw tooth geometry. Ask about the new digital microsystem generator now available as an option. Call 1-800-547-5537 for more information.
