Big Saws

Big saw tensioningThe big saw division at Pacific/Hoe maintains a large inventory of all popular diameters and gauges of pre-hardened nickel alloy large diameter saw plate. Each saw plate is inspected on receipt from the steel mill for dimensional accuracy, flatness and hardness. Only those plates meeting Pacific/Hoe's rigid quality standards and specifications are accepted for production.

Pacific/Hoe's manufacturing process for all large diameter saws starts in our computerized engineering and design department, where each saw is designed and programmed on one of our CAD/CAM systems.

All machining (other than surface grinding) is carried out on computer controlled milling work centers. The use of these state-of-the-art systems ensures that on Inserted Tooth saws, sockets are accurately spaced, the bevel seat is exactly centered in the plate and all fits are perfect.

All of Pacific/Hoe's big saws are precision peripheral ground and polished to achieve a smooth micro fine finish resulting in a first class free cutting saw for your mill. A less expensive swirl or blanchard type grind will not achieve a surface finish that meets our standards.

I.T.C.O. SawsI.T.C.O. Saws
Pacific/Hoe offers inserted tooth cut-off saws to cover every application. Steel or inlaid teeth are available in R, M, #4 and #44 styles. Pacific/Hoe also offers carbide inserted tooth cut-off saws in the popular JC-5, JC-7 and JC-11 styles. The JC-7 and JC-11 are designed with a controlled bite. We recommend JC-7 or JC-11 on all single line systems, twin saws, chop saws and slasher decks. It is also very effective for mobile slashers and batch slashers where the saw travels past a conveyor full of wood. The controlled bite of the JC-7 or JC-11 solves the problem of loose wood being grabbed. Carbide inserted tooth cut-off saws are available in left hand and right hand or hollow point carbide teeth

M and L Style Solid Tooth Cut-Off SawsStyle "M" Solid tooth Saw
Solid tooth cut-off saws for general purposes in the smaller diameters are regularly made with Style "L" or "M" teeth as illustrated, or in similar variations of these shapes. Saws that cut on the underside, or below the arbor should be fitted with Style "M". When the cutting is above the arbor, the Style "L" tooth is recommended. It is important when ordering to state which tooth style is desired and to give full dimensions of the mandrel and pinholes or send in a paper rubbing.

A-Style Rip SawsA-Style Rip Saws
Rip saws used for cutting with the grain of the wood, carry square faced teeth which provide chisel like cutting edges. The teeth are "hooked" to help pull the saw into the work. Clearance for rip saws is provided by either spring setting or swaging the teeth. Generally, a swaged tooth will withstand heavier feed than a spring set tooth. A swaged saw will also give a smoother cut as the cutting edges are more uniform.

Style No. 2-1/2 SlasherStyle No. 2-1/2 Slasher
This style of cut-off is best suited for mobile slasher operations because of the ease of maintenance.
Also available in hollow point carbide.
(2 ga. and 4-6 ga.)
