Circular Saw Guide Systems

Circular babbit guide systemsPacific/Hoe's circular babbit guide system gives maximum performance and quick, easy replacement of parts with minimum downtime.

the system is designed for efficient saw replacement to keep the mill in production. saws can be changed quickly by loosening a lock nut or releasing the Hydraulic Closing Unit. The arms rotate back and the saw can be removed quickly and easily.

Net cuts can be varies by simply changing the spacers between the guide arms and the guide pad thickness. you get maximum variety with a minimum of equipment. In most cases, no extra arms are required for different net cuts.

Circular babbit guide systemsThe guide system is set with minimum guide clearance to allow the saw to stabilize when in the cut and maintain accurate saw tolerances.

The guide arms are durable and tough, all made from heat-treated T1 steel. We recommend chrome or nickel plating to resist corrosion and prolong wear.

We can use adjustable sleeves so the system can be easily repositioned laterally to any desired cutting position. each system is custom made to individual specifications. The system Pacific/Hoe installs for you is designed to accomodate your specific equipment and maximize output in your operation.

Quick-Lock Guide ArmsQuick-Lock Guide Arms
Take advantage of our latest technology in thin-kerf sawing. Our new Quick-Lock guide arms rotate smoothly and easily for easy saw removal and replacement.

Rest bars have been eliminated for clean operation with no "hang-ups".

The guide arms are made from heat-treated T1 steel and will take normal abuse without bending or distorting. We suggest chrome or nickel plating for longer wear and easier maintenance.

A smaller amount of lubrication is needed in our system because the arms are drilled internally and the lubrication comes directly through the guide pad nozzles onto the saw.

SpacersSpacers
Spacers attached to the guide arms determine the net cut. Simply change the spacers and pad thickness to achieve the cut you want.

Our spacers are made from T1 steel and heat-treated to assure proper strength. Chrome or nickel plating is suggested for longer wear and protection from corrosion.

Babbitt Shifting GuideBabbitt Shifting Guide
Pacific/Hoe shifting guides are designed to give full support to the saw as the pad extends from the gullet almost to the arbor. This will give more support tot he saw when a set is made.

To quickly change saws, just loosen a one-inch bolt and rotate the arm back and remove the saw. The system is preset with no adjusting needed.

Lubrication is run through the guide pad to prevent the saw from overheating.

We will custom fit our shifting guide system to your edger. With our babbitt shifting guide, saw cost can be reduced significantly and improved cutting accuracy can be achieved.

Hydraulic Closing UnitHydraulic Closing Unit
Our guide system can be supplied with an optional Hydraulic Closing Unit which releases for a quick change of saws. This unit can produce 10,000 pounds of tightening pressure, ensuring the guides will remain tight during operation.
Babbitt TankBabbitt Tank
Pacific/Hoe babbitt tanks are equipped with a stainless steel adjustable pouring spout, so the babbitt can be poured directly into the mold. This eliminates dripping and pouring with a ladle.

The tank is fully insulated to hold heat longer and thermostatically controlled to maintain an even temperature for pouring. The tank is equipped with an easily adaptable vent stack.

Two sizes are available. The smaller tank has one Chromalox heating element; the larger tank has two heating elements.

Babbitt MoldBabbitt Mold
Our babbitt mold is rigidly built and designed for easy pouring. The side plate can be adjusted to produce different thicknessess. Apouring funnel is used to make all sides of the babbitt smooth.

The guide arm is easily removed from the mold by loosening two bolts.
